Facility Description & Capacity

The Bruce Starker Arts Amphitheater is a large covered stage. The Amphitheater is 3/4 encircled by a "bowl" of gently sloping grass. The final 1/4 faces the Park's duck pond. The rental area includes the amphitheater and surrounding grass, but does not include the grass near the duck pond.

Bruce Starker Arts Amphitheater features:

  • Capacity of 2,000 people in the area, or 100 people under its roof
  • Two stairs and two ramps that offer access to the stage
  • Barbeque grill
  • Potable water via a drinking fountain
  • Ample parking

There is a single, handicapped accessible portable restroom for use by all park patrons, however Parks and Recreation can give you information on renting additional portable restrooms for your event.

For an additional fee, electricity is available at the shelter (including one 50 amp plug). All outlets are controlled by a locked circuit breaker panel box. A key is required to access the box; this key must be picked up during business hours from the Parks and Recreation office the business day prior to your event (see Electrical fee, below).

Nearby Park Features

The 15+ acres of Bruce Starker Arts Park features four stationary picnic tables overlooking a large duck pond. The pond's fountain normally operates year-round from about 6 AM to 8 PM daily. In order to encourage appropriate migration, guests are prohibited from feeding the wildlife.

The parks' play equipment includes swings, slide and a climbing structure. A walking/jogging trail winds through the park and around the pond. This path may NOT be blocked during events.

Bruce Starker Arts Park is just a short walk away from Sunset Park, which features a small picnic shelter, ADA accessible playground, restroom, two lighted ball fields, and a half basketball court.

Amplified sound is allowed with an approved Sound Permit. See the permit fee below.
